At House of Bespoke Furniture, our beds are carefully manufactured using different construction methods depending on the size, design and storage options selected.
To help you make an informed purchase, we have created this guide explaining how our bed frames are constructed, the base options available and how individual components are delivered.
1. Standard Bed Frames – Non-Gas Lift
Our standard upholstered bed frames are manufactured using the following components:
- Upholstered headboard
- Two upholstered side rails
- Upholstered footboard
- Internal support structure
- Solid board mattress-support base, available in black or cream
These beds do not include a gas-lift mechanism or under-bed ottoman storage.
Available sizes: Single, Double, King, Super King and Emperor, including 200 × 200 cm and 215 × 215 cm.
The components are delivered separately for assembly, subject to the construction requirements of the chosen design.
2. Metal Cage Ottoman Gas-Lift Beds
Available in Single, Double, King and Super King only.
Our metal cage ottoman beds feature a robust metal mattress-support frame with a mesh-style construction and hydraulic gas-lift mechanism.
The bed comprises:
- Upholstered headboard
- Two upholstered side rails
- Upholstered footboard
- Metal cage lifting platform
- Hydraulic gas-lift mechanism
- Internal storage area
The metal cage lifts to provide access to the storage space beneath the mattress.
Important: Metal cage ottoman mechanisms are available for beds up to Super King size only. They are not available for Emperor beds.
3. Emperor Ottoman Gas-Lift Beds
Available in Emperor 200 × 200 cm and Emperor 215 × 215 cm.
Due to the substantial dimensions of Emperor beds, these models use a different construction method from our standard metal cage ottoman beds.
Emperor gas-lift beds are manufactured using two separate divan-style ottoman storage bases, with an upholstered bed frame surrounding the bases.
The construction comprises:
- Upholstered headboard
- Upholstered side rails
- Upholstered footboard
- Two individual divan ottoman storage bases
- Solid lift-up mattress-support platforms
- Integrated hydraulic gas-lift mechanisms
Each divan base is manufactured as a structural storage unit. The two bases are positioned together to create the complete Emperor sleeping area, with the decorative upholstered frame fitted around them.
Please note: Emperor ottoman divan bases are manufactured as substantial, pre-constructed units. They are not supplied as flat-packed side panels and cannot be fully dismantled into individual boards for access purposes.
Customers must ensure that both divan base sections can safely pass through all access points within their property before ordering.
